The love for ice cream and invention launches a family’s dream into a blockbuster franchise.

The Flango family has been dairy farming since 1940, when Enrico Flango started a family dairy farm and shared his passion with his grandson William. Flash forward to Penn State University where William studied Food Science and fell in love with ice cream making at the world famous Penn State Creamery.  In 2001 William’s son Daniel, who was an Operations Consultant for International Dairy Queen, partnered with William to bring their combined expertise to launch the first DQ Grill & Chill franchise. Seventeen years later their success story continues.
